April Fools’ Day is a time when we let our imagination run wild, and this year, our team, together with our client Everyman, brainstormed ideas for a fun April Fools Day campaign and pulled off an unforgettable prank. Once we had decided on the concept of an “AI pen that writes by itself.” our copywriter then used ChatGPT to create a product description, and our designer took the initiative to try out Dall-e for the first time, creating a realistic product shot that matched the client’s current products.
In regards to the design specifically, our designer Remus was given the task of designing an email which he thought was pretty awesome considering the recent AI boom over the past few months. It made sense that he used an AI design tool such as Dall-e to generate the images and low and behold, a pen that writes for itself with circuitry inside was rendered. Prompts he used to generate the images included:
“A photo-realistic render of an AI Grafton pen with circuitry inside”
“A metal pen with circuitry inside it”
Remus shared his thoughts as to how he viewed the creative experience by saying “I was able to generate images that would normally take me days or even months to build using traditional editing softwares we have currently – II was completely blown away by the amazing development of AI over the past few months and have been in awe at how much depth of perception it can posses to analyze and respond to questions in an almost human-like way and generate images that I never thought was possible.
Lead Strategist Travis Bonneteau added “We even tied the campaign to a brass mini twist pen that customers have said in reviews “it basically writes by itself.””.
